Ranchi Test: Rohit & Rahane put India in command

It seemed that a different South Africa took the field in Ranchi but after an initial burst, the day once again belonged to Team India. The hosts though had a torrid start as Kagiso Rabada breathed fire with the new ball, as Mayank Agarwal, Pujara and Kohli were back into the hut with just 39 runs on the board. Just when the Proteas looked on top, Rohit Sharma turned the tide against the visitors with a fiery 117 not out. Ajinkya Rahane too proved to be his willing ally and took the attack to the opposition from the word go. He remained unbeaten on 83 as the pair put together a 185 run stand, which is now already India's highest 4th wicket partnership against the Proteas in Tests. Rain though came to South Africa's rescue and forced early stumps as India ended day 1 at 224/3.
