Job Alert! Indian tech firms to hire over 1.5 lakh freshers this year

The demand for tech services is booming for the $150 billion industry and they are looking to hire over 1.5 lakh freshers to meet the growing need. The top 4 tech titans, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, HCL Technologies and Wipro — will hire over 120,000 freshers in this financial year. While midcap companies will supplement hiring around 30,000 new joinees as well.

The big four, which together employ over a fourth of India’s 4.6 million IT workforce, hired over 48,500 people in the quarter to June.

The hiring spree is also to plug the gap in the rising attrition numbers, Infosys and Wipro have seen over a 14% attrition rate while TCS has managed to contain it to just under 9%. Double rounds of salary hikes have also not paid off for the tech giants that have seen profitability being hit due to rising wages as demand booms.
